Sustainability-ESG

Application of sustainability principles to mining is inherently challenging, as mining is the act of removing and consuming a limited resource. There's no green washing within Permiam’s ambitions. Were at the forefront of innovation working closely with partners that are:

  • Delivering solutions to dramatically reduce the carbon footprint in steel production and other metal resources.
  • Delivering world class monitoring systems for tailings & dams helping stakeholders to avoid catastrophes and the environmental damage caused to our planet.
  • Cleaning, conserving, and recycling our precious water supply.
  • Utilizing technologies that improve outcomes and ESG credentials.

Permian have the skills, knowledge and motivation to drive new practices that can meet industrial demands and ensure future generations are not disadvantaged. The Permiam sustainable mining framework is focused on reducing environmental impacts of mining. Strategies for assessing the sustainability of mining operations include measuring, monitoring, and working to improve various environmental performance metrics, and these are used to determine whether a mining operation is sustainable. The key metrics for environmental sustainability in mining relate to efficiencies in resource consumption, minimizing land disturbance, pollution reduction, as well as closure and reclamation of exhausted mine lands.
